Long Island boasts more than 20 lighthouses, all different styles and sizes. The Montauk Point Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse on Long Island, but it is not the tallest. Northport is a historic maritime village on the north shore of Long Island, New York. Initially designated Great Cow Harbour by 17th-century colonists. They didn’t get it, never appreciating how silly that sounded until 1837. The area was then officially renamed Northport and later incorporated as a village.

This is the Robert Moses Causeway Bridge. The 8 mile parkway, originally known as the Captree Causeway, connects West Islip on Long Island to the barrier beach islands, such as Captree Island, Jones Beach Island, and the western tip of Fire Island.

I once read about a 25 piece big band conducted by the great Sonny Dallas. They had a powerful sound that was completely uplifting to anyone. The whole dynamic of that hall in the Kings Park Psychiatric Center changed when it became engulfed in the great joyous sound of big band swinging jazz.
There was a small tango section in the middle of one of the jazz pieces that they performed. The band had a female lead singer named Lenore. During the tango section, the lead performer would usually jump off the piano, grab Lenore and then dance the tango with her across the stage. However, when he jumped off the piano and grabbed Lenore, the audience at the Kings Park Psychiatric Center went wild. The patients began screaming intensely loud. Some of them were running up and down the aisles. A few ran towards the stage but were stopped by orderlies. The dance was cut short with Lenore hiding behind the piano.
