Mourning dove, A graceful, slender-tailed, small-headed dove. Their soft, drawn-out calls sound like laments. They are also the most frequently hunted species in America. 😫 Last spring this cutie fledged from a nearby nest and crash landed on my deck. He's a regular now just hanging out with his pleasant (first few hundred times times) "cooo-AAH, oo, oo, oo".
